Why Kalada?
The name Kalada is derived from an authentic Arabic word. In the language, "Kalada" refers to solid ground, or a firm, dense piece of land — carrying connotations of steadfastness and permanence. This name was also carried by the Arab physician Al-Harith ibn Kalada Al-Thaqafi, known in classical texts as "the physician of the Arabs." It is from his story, and from the meaning behind his name, that we drew inspiration for our brand.
For us, this name doesn't represent stability alone — it represents an approach built on knowledge, precise diagnosis, and solutions grounded in solid understanding.

Al-Harith ibn Kalada was from Ta'if, and he traveled to Persia in pursuit of knowledge, where he studied and practiced medicine before returning to his homeland. He became renowned among the Arabs for his understanding of illness and treatment, and for his practical medical expertise. Historical sources note that he lived into the early Islamic era, and it is recorded that Umar ibn Al-Khattab once consulted him on medicine and diet.
Among the wisdom commonly attributed to him: "The stomach is the house of disease, and moderation is the foundation of cure."
This wisdom captures a core principle: reaching the right treatment doesn't begin with medicine alone — it begins with understanding the cause first.
